Cathy Smith, LMT, has been practicing massage therapy for over 16 years, graduating from The Health Enrichment Center of Lapeer in 2005.  It was here she learned the health benefits of massage and not just a luxury service.  Cathy has worked with professional athletes, VA clients, chiropractic clients, and hospice clients.  She has extensive experience working in a multitude of venues including spas, chiropractic offices, and stand alone chair massage.

 

Her varied experience has taught her that stress is the major cause of a lot of health issues as well as tension.  She integrates a multitude of modalities in her sessions in order to relax clients as well as relieve this tension that can lead to other illnesses.  These modalities include deep tissue, Swedish (relaxation), hot stone, and herbal poultice.  Cathy is also knowledgeable in prenatal and chair massage. 

 

In addition to massage, Cathy holds a B.S. in mathematics from Western Michigan University, a B.A. in Literature from Eastern Michigan University, and holds a secondary teaching certificate in English from Eastern Michigan University.
